Concept

I want to express certain texture by remaking the iron pieces and stainless steel. The colors of butterfly’s wings added on them generate a strong visual contrast, attempting to reiterate to humanistic thinking. Through the form and body of the work, I want to respond to the contemporary dialogue between “nature” and “artificial” with formless and spiritual appeal. I want to eulogize and praise the progresses in out time, and make strong proposition and remainder about a rational confrontation with the earth. The formation of the work symbolizes the dialogue and response concerning all the elements of modern Formosa.

Dear!
What are you doing on my body?
How come my corpse and head are apart?
Dear!
What are you doing on my body?
How come I am dried up?
Dear!
What have you done to me?
Have you caressed me?
Oh, no! Not so hard.
Have you dressed me up?
Oh! You have to be careful.
Have you planted fruit trees?
Then you will eat the fruits you grow.
Even the butterfly’s wings are no longer colorful
And it no longer flies
since it has eaten the fruits.
Oh! I don’t want it!
